Professor Barbara Casadei is the Head of the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College in the UK. She is a British Heart Foundation Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and was the first female president of the European Society of Cardiology

Professor Sabine Ernst

Professor Sabine Ernst is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital, London and Professor of Practice in Cardiology at Imperial College London. She specializes in catheter ablation of complex cardiac arrythmias in both adults and children.

Professor Karen Sliwa

Professor Karen Sliwa is director of the Cape Heart Institute in South Africa and was the first female president of the World Heart Federation. She is a member and treasurer of the Pan-African Society of Cardiology.

Professor Christine Albert

Professor Christine Albert is currently chair of the department of cardiology at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. She is a past president of the Heart Rhythm Society and previously was Professor of Medicine at Harvard University.

Professor Carolin Lerchenmüller

Professor Carolin Lerchenmüller is the professor of Gender Medicine in Zurich. She is also a founding member of the Women in Cardiology group of the German Cardiac Society.

Professor Angela Maas

Professor Angela Maas is the director of the Women’s Cardiac Health program at Radboud University. She was the 2020 elected representative of the Dutch Women’s Council to the United Nations. Prof. Maas has been known as the “cardio-feminist” for her expertise in cardiovascular diseases in women and her ongoing advocacy for gender equality in healthcare and is a senior member of the Women as One organization.

Professor John Camm

Professor A. John Camm is Professor of clinical cardiology specializing in cardiac arrhythmias and channelopathies at St. George’s Hospital NHS Trust. He has been the Queen’s honorary physician and Commander of the Order of St John.

Dr Theofanie Mela

Dr. Fania Mela is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Pacemaker and ICD Clinic and Lead Management Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Professor Sunny Po

Professor Sunny Po is professor of medicine at the Heart Rhythm Institute of Oklahoma University as holder of the Warren Jackman Chair of Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is an example of what can be achieved by foreign medical graduates having completed medical school in Taiwan.

Professor Martha Gulati

Professor Martha Gulati is Director of Preventive Cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute specializing in women’s hearts & heart disease prevention. She is Associate Director of the Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart Center. She is the President-Elect of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology and has also spoken at the White House about Women’s Heart Health as part of the Women’s Health Initiative

Dr Claire Martin

Dr Claire Martin is Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at the Royal Papworth Hospital Cambridge and Affiliated Assistant Professor at the University of Cambridge. She talks about having children as an Electrophysiologist in the UK’s NHS
